“For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose.” — Philippians 2:13
Looking back over my life, I see a story not of my achievements, but of God’s amazing grace. I was born prematurely in 1960, weighing only 3 pounds (1.3 kg). Humanly speaking, my survival was uncertain, but God had already written His purpose for my life.
Although I grew up in a Christian family, I did not truly know Christ personally until 25 June 2002—the exact day and month of my natural birth, 42 years later. That day I surrendered my life to Jesus, and everything changed. It was my spiritual birthday.
Like many young professionals, I chased success, wealth, influence, and recognition. As a lawyer, businessman, politician, and community leader, I achieved many of my dreams. Yet while I appeared successful to the world, I was failing where it mattered most—my marriage, my family, and my relationship with God.
One question from the Lord changed my life forever:
“If you were on your deathbed today, who would truly cry for you?”
The answer pierced my heart. It would not be the people who admired my success, but my wife and children. That moment led me to leave politics and surrender my ambitions to God. It became the turning point that saved my family.
From then on, I experienced Jesus not merely as a belief, but as the living God. Time after time He demonstrated His faithfulness. He healed me supernaturally from life-threatening illness, delivered me from anxiety and financial crises, provided miraculously for my daughters’ overseas education, restored my legal practice, and opened doors of influence that I never pursued. Every promotion and every provision became a testimony of His grace rather than my ability.
God also led me into marketplace ministry through the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship (FGBMFI), where I discovered my true calling—to disciple and mentor men in the marketplace. Through FGB, I learned that success is not measured by position or wealth, but by faithfulness to God’s calling.
Today, I continue to practise law while serving as a lay minister and marketplace leader. My greatest passion is no longer building my own kingdom, but helping others discover God’s purpose for their lives, especially the next generation of Christian professionals and business leaders.
My life has taught me one enduring truth:
Success without God is temporary, but a life surrendered to Christ leaves an eternal legacy.
I am still imperfect, but every day I strive toward perfection in Christ. All that I am and all that I have accomplished are by the grace of God alone.
To God alone be all the glory.
