Not sure what to expect? Good.

FGB isn't a church, a sales pitch, or a club for the over-60s. It's a 70-year-old fellowship where Christian business and professional people meet over a meal, hear an unscripted real-life story, and bring colleagues who'd never set foot in a church. Here's exactly what happens.

DEMYSTIFIED

What actually happens?

1

Arrive & have a meal

No forms, no name badges, sit anywhere. Some chapters charge a token RM20–40 to cover the meal.
2

Worship, then hear someone's story

A member shares 15 minutes of real, unscripted experience. Business, faith, marriage, integrity, failure — followed by a main speaker.
3

Connect over coffee

Talk to one or two people who get the marketplace pressure. No one chases you, no one signs you up.
4

Stay for prayer. Or leave.

After the speaker, there's a short prayer time. Some go up for prayer about work, health, family, faith. Some leave. Both are normal. No one's watching.
TWO DOORS

FGB is for two kinds of people.

DOOR A — ALREADY A CHRISTIAN

You're already a Christian in business or work

You want your work to mean more than the paycheck. You have colleagues you'd love to invite somewhere safe to hear from real Christians. You're tired of choosing between pious abstraction and prosperity pitch.
  • Wrestling with an ethics question your pastor can't fully answer
  • Want a low-pressure place to invite an unbelieving colleague
  • Hungry for peers who get the marketplace pressure
  • Already doing Haggai / marketplace ministry training and want a chapter rhythm

DOOR B — NOT YET, OR NOT SURE

You're not a Christian — or not sure

A friend invited you and you're figuring out what you're walking into. You're done with religious orgs that oversell — but a meal is just a meal. You'd rather hear someone's real story than read another self-help post.
  • Curious how working Christians actually think — beyond Sunday clichés
  • Your spouse is the believer — you want to understand without committing
  • Drifted from a Christian background, want a low-stakes way back into the conversation
  • Want the gospel framed by people who've made hard business calls, not just preached at

IS THIS FOR YOU?

Is this for someone like me?

If any of these sound like you, yes. FGB exists for exactly this conversation.

  • You're a Christian in business wrestling with an ethics question you can't fully bring to your pastor or cell group.
  • You're a founder or executive (25–65) feeling the pressure of integrity vs. results.
  • You're a Christian man in business and you've never had a peer group that gets the marketplace pressure.
  • You're skeptical of organised Christianity but open to the conversation.
  • You're not yet a Christian and want to understand what these people actually believe. Welcome.
LET'S BE HONEST

What FGB is NOT

We've all been burned by religious organisations promising things they don't deliver. Here's what FGB isn't, before you waste a chapter meeting.

Not top-down teaching

It's people who share the marketplace pressure talking to each other — not one person teaching while others listen.

Not a networking group

FGB is not BNI. We are not LinkedIn-with-Jesus. No referral structure, no business-cards-as-the-point.

Not retired men reminiscing

Our 60-year-olds are an asset, not the whole. FGB is for whoever is in the marketplace today — 25, 35, 45, 55.

Not an MLM

Nothing to buy. No tiers. No referral incentives. Ever.

Not only for Christians

Skeptics, seekers, lapsed-Christians, spouses-of-believers — all welcome. Honest conversation, no pressure.

Not a women's auxiliary

Women are not members. Leadership is currently men. Every chapter welcomes visitors.
WHAT A TESTIMONY SOUNDS LIKE

“I entered business as an estate contractor and achieved early success — but I struggled with unethical business practices, and cried out to God for a new direction. Our greatest crisis came in 2005, when contaminated products forced us to recall shipments from Europe. Financially, we were at our lowest. As I sought God, He simply said: ‘Look into the future.’”

— Richard Ling, founder of LINACO, who found his calling in the marketplace through FGB

THERE'S MORE THAN ONE MEAL

Chapters are how it starts. Not how it ends.

FGB Malaysia is part of a 70-year-old global movement across 85+ countries. Local chapter is the doorway. Here's the bigger context.

Local chapter

Regional gathering

National convention

Annual 2–3 day gathering of FGB Malaysia chapters. International speakers, deeper teaching, the whole movement in one room.

International convention

Global FGBMFI gathering. 85+ countries, thousands of members. The full breadth of the movement Demos Shakarian started in 1952.

You don't have to commit to anything beyond walking into one meal. But if you stay, there's a 70-year-old global movement waiting.

SILENT QUESTIONS, HONEST ANSWERS

Common questions

Do I have to pay anything?

Your first visit is free. Some chapters charge a token RM20–40 to cover the meal at subsequent visits. There are no membership fees for guests.

What if I'm Catholic? Anglican? Methodist?

All welcome. FGB explicitly co-operates with all of like faith and isn't tied to any specific denomination. Members come from across the Christian landscape — Pentecostal, Charismatic, Catholic, Anglican, Methodist, non-denominational.

Do I have to share a testimony?

No. Only members who agree to share, do. First-time visitors are never asked to speak. You can attend chapter after chapter as a listener if that's where you are.

Can I bring my spouse?

Yes — and many couples attend together. Some chapters specifically design dinners and conventions as couples' events. Bringing your wife or husband is normal and encouraged.

What's the dress code?

Smart casual. Some older members wear batik. No suit-and-tie expected unless it's a formal evening dinner or convention.

What language is the meeting in?

English at most chapters. Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien, Tamil, and Bahasa Malaysia at language-specific chapters — see each chapter's page for its primary meeting language.

FOR CHRISTIANS WHO'VE READ THIS FAR

Got someone in mind to bring?

Most first-time visitors come because a Christian friend asked. If you've been waiting for a low-pressure way to invite a colleague, this page is it. Share it. We'll save a seat for both of you.
