The title is a word often used.

It is best illustrated by the
metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly. This
means its transformation is by a natural agency. But a follower
of Jesus Christ is transformed by a spiritual agency. There is
even greater excitement when we hear of a nation being
transformed; for example, Fiji.
Before such a thing can happen we
have first to look inward at ourselves. Are we working out our
salvation with fear and trembling? Or do we believe once saved
always saved. Then why are ‘adulterers and liars’ kept out of
the ‘new heaven and new earth? (Rev 21:1, 8). Did Jesus not say,
‘go and sin no more lest a worse thing come upon you’. We are
also warned not to be like ‘a dog going back to its vomit’.

A tree is known by its fruit and
only a good tree can bear good fruit. Is the fruit of the Holy
Spirit evident to the people you interact with? As a member of
the FGBMF, your ministry is in the marketplace. Your business
associates must be able to see the good principles you subscribe
to; otherwise you are not a good testimony.
Many show great passion in being
willing to do things for Jesus and in giving; even endeavouring
to make money for the ministries. Then Jesus would be your
debtor. Is it not He who supplies ‘all your needs’ and you are
merely a steward? Then it would be better if we just seek to do
His will. Jesus Himself came only to do the will of the Father.
Let us follow Him.
Remember we are only pilgrims in the
world. In the course of our journey temptations constantly
surround us. Overcoming pride, the lust of the eye and the lust
of the flesh is a constant battle for us to overcome. Our safety
lies in the power of the Holy Spirit when He reigns in us as He
did in Jesus Christ when He was on earth. When the anointing of
the Holy Spirit is upon us, what we say will make people listen
and respond. The Holy Spirit convicts people of their sins. To
be effective leaders, walk by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Leaders must pursue holiness: “ ... as He who called you is
holy, you also be holy in all your conduct.”
1 Peter 1: 15.
If we are prepared to subscribe to
the above thoughts then perhaps we can have the vision of the
transformation of our nation. Our Lord Jesus does all things in
His time. Let our walk be pleasing to Him so that He can use us
to transform our nation into a God fearing nation. Contribute
your expertise for the good of the nation. “Submit yourselves to
every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake.”
1 Peter 2:13 &
“Honor the King” 1 Peter 2:17.
In the Lord’s time He will burden
the hearts of those He called and put the passion in them also
to desire the nation transformed. He will also bring others of
like mind together. As all governments are established by God
you are to pray for them and all in authority so that you may
live peacefully in the land.
Landa Cope in “The Old Testament
Template” indicates that the Church is not doing the full works
of God. The areas where the Church has not fulfilled its duties
are in government, education, economics, family, the arts,
communication and science. It is good for the Church to be more
outward looking and shoulder its full responsibilities as
ordained by God. Many with special giftings and talents are now
not being fully utilized.
Perhaps it is time to launch out to
the full flow of the river and allow the Holy Spirit to take us
on to wherever He desires. We should not grief or quench the
Holy Spirit but allow His will to be done. Our Lord Jesus Christ
had shown us the example.
Let the believers come together in
unity to build His church. Leaders must be of one heart and
mind; though with different functions. With sincere and humble
hearts come together and pray for the good of our nation.
Together let us intercede for the nation and wait for Him to
move; be obedient and willing to sacrifice and let go.
These are thoughts dropped into my
mind as I ask the Holy Spirit to speak so that I may have an
article to write for the
Flame.
Let the fire of cleansing begin!
