To Get A Touch From The Lord Is So Real

AT THE CAMP, the members experienced the wonderful touch of the Holy Spirit during the teaching by Bro Hanson and Pastor John which was followed by numerous signs and wonders. There was deliverance and healing and many of our members were mightily blessed! Pastor John taught on the baptism of the Holy Spirit and fire! He aptly quoted Luke 3:16,'John answered, saying to all, "I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming …… He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit & fire".

I have always wondered why miracles do not happen all the time and why we experience the special touch of the Holy Spirit some times and not all the time. We also see that some received healing and some not! When I look back at my own experience over the last twenty years as a born again Christian, I recall that the first year was very exciting for me. Almost every one I laid hands on and prayed for received healing - it was like I was on a honeymoon period with Jesus during the first year I came to know Him! After that, the number of miracles lessened and the intensity of the fire became lukewarm. Currently, I feel like I am wandering around in the desert like the Israelites in their search for the Promised Land!

I learned and observed that Pastor John did not lay hands on the participants at all! He merely spoke to them following spiritual stirrings in him and he called out individuals as the Spirit led him to and he allowed the Holy Spirit to have His own way with those individuals! In other words, he was giving glory to the Spirit as He spoke to those people and caused them to manifest! He did not have to do the work for God but allowed the Spirit to move on its own accord with the people so that the glory belonged wholly to the Lord!

Many times, we have seen for ourselves, how various servants of God ministered by laying hands on people and causing them to be "slain" with a gentle push in order to help them to fall! Sometimes, there are those who fall immediately to prove they are super spiritual! Let's us not try to do God's work but instead, allowing God to do His work! Then there are those who are slain without being touched by the ministers and manifested - they are the ones that enjoy the genuine touch of the Holy Spirit!

At the camp, people who had manifested and fallen down under the anointing and were nailed to the floor and they were not able to get up even when they tried to do so on their own! I was reminded in I Kings 8:11, "so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the GLORY of the LORD filled the house of the LORD." THIS GLORY IS THE BAPTISM OF FIRE!

Now, I begin to see the truth for myself! The first year of my being born-again, I was like a baby going around and trying to learn how to minister. Miracles happened at that time, it happened because I did not have to think how to minister in whatever way except to trust in the Lord completely like a little child! Then later, I began to rely more on my knowledge and intelligence and so I became more ego-centric rather than God-centred! When you become ego-centric, you take God's glory for yourself. Unless you give glory to God for what He is supposed to do, you cannot expect any miracles to happen! The teaching by Rev John had really opened my eyes to a greater understanding of the work of the Holy Spirit! One must therefore break the intellectual barrier!

At the ministry time, I observed red faces appearing on some brothers. I thought they had high blood pressure or something and then they suddenly manifested and fell on to the ground and rolled all over! Some were just slain! Rev John did not touch them either - he just pointed at them and they began to shake! Then I was reminded of Moses who visited Mt. Sinai and saw the Lord and how he came down with a shinning face! (See Exodus 34:30) This was the first time I saw something of similar nature happening right before my own eyes! It was like the baptism of fire and THE FIRE IS THE GLORY OF GOD! It was awesome!

I used to sing the song, "To get a touch from the Lord is so real!" And nothing is more real than to see a red face appearing before you to know that the glory of God was being poured out in that meeting! To be touched by the Lord in this manner would be a real blessing and I came down from Genting Highlands feeling really humbled! I now desire to continue to look for that genuine, divine touch of God! I trust you also will be led to look also for that genuine and divine touch of God in future meetings! PRAISE THE LORD!
